Bantayan Island (June 2008)

Sta.Fe, Bantayan

Sta. Fe is a small town, it would be fun if you rent a bike for an hour and discover your way through the peaceful alleys. You’ll discover places where you can eat and all but definitely it is fun to have the feeling that you’re a tourist in your own country – haha… Here are some stuff that sure would make your visit worth your money and time.

1) walking the whole stretch of sugar beach
2) swimming on the beach
3) eat-all-you-can dinner
4) billiards at at-all-you-can restau
5) ogtong resort day tour
6) climbing on the floating restau

Virgin Island

25 minutes of pump boat ride from Sta. Fe port, you’ll find virgin island, locals call it in another name though. The islet is owned privately, so it is best to visit early morning up until 2pm where the waves are not so scary and wild. There’s nothing more exciting to pair up a serene isla with grilled food, fresh fruits, mainint na sabaw, steaming rice and appetizers. Food preparation can be arranged with the banka captain but food marketing should be done before you hop in the banka.

Bantayan Sentro

From Sta.Fe, a habal2 ride could get you to sentro where you will find the merkado and buy foods that you need for the virgin island trip. The ride was not so bumpy but when you chose to have 2 peeps making “ankas” with plastic bags full of food and stuff, the ride could get uncomfy, touchy, hehe… You can also opt for a trisikel ride, but morning trips could take long to fill in 1 trisikel.
